1. Who we are
waldenirb.com is operated by an independent consultation practice that handles the Walden IRB process for doctoral candidates and professionals. It is not affiliated with Walden University. The desk can be reached at hello@waldenirb.com or through the contact page; either address reaches the person responsible for what this notice describes.
2. What we collect, and when
- When you request the free application review (the form on the homepage and on the contact page): your name if you give it, your email address, your phone number, the stage your project is at, the kind of project and whether the site is your workplace if you choose to say, and anything you write in the note. The page you sent it from is recorded with it.
- When you claim the seasonal offer: your name if you give it, your email address, your phone number, the month, and the page.
- When you join the briefing (the footer form and the briefing page): your email address and the page you joined from.
- When you open the chat: the messages you type, the page you were on, and the time. If you leave an email address in the chat, that too. The chat does not read anything else on your device.
- When you later send documents by email — a proposal, a draft application, a board letter — those documents and whatever personal information they contain, which we treat as described in section 4.
The site stores two small flags in your browser's session storage — whether the seasonal offer has already been shown to you and whether the chat prompt has already appeared — so that neither repeats during a visit. They hold no personal data and disappear when the browser tab closes. The site sets no cookies of its own and loads no advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the ordinary request your browser makes for a font file.
3. Why we keep it
To read what you sent and write back; to carry an engagement from the first letter to the approval letter; to send the briefing to those who asked for it; and to keep a record of the correspondence between you and the desk. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Documents you send us
Proposals, applications, consent forms and board letters often contain names, sites and other details about you and about third parties. We read them only to do the work you asked for, keep them within the desk's own systems, share them with no one outside the desk, and delete or return them at the end of an engagement on request. Anything you have not asked us to work on, we do not open.
5. Who reads it, and where it goes
The three consultants at the desk and the practice's own intake system, which receives the forms and the chat. The site is hosted by a commercial hosting provider, which sees the ordinary server logs any website produces. We do not hand personal information to Walden University, to any review board, or to any other third party, unless you ask us to in writing or the law requires it.
6. How long it stays
Correspondence about an engagement is kept for as long as the engagement and for a reasonable period afterward in case the board writes again; briefing addresses are kept until you leave the briefing; chat transcripts and form submissions that do not become engagements are removed on a rolling basis. Write to hello@waldenirb.com and we will tell you exactly what we hold about you, correct it, or remove it — and confirm when it is done.
7. Changes
If this notice changes, the revision date at the top changes with it, and those on the briefing hear about it in the same email that tells them about anything else that changed.
